We are pleased to invite submissions for the 1st FAST Conference, to be held in Rovaniemi, Finland, on 12-13 August 2026.

This conference brings together researchers, practitioners, educators, industry experts, and students to share original research, emerging ideas, practical experiences, and innovative solutions across computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, information systems, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Conference Information

The event aims to provide a vibrant forum for academic exchange, professional networking, and collaboration between academia and industry in an inspiring northern setting.

We welcome high-quality original contributions covering completed research, work in progress, case studies, tools, industrial experiences, and visionary ideas.

Scope, Topics, and Themes

The conference includes the following six main themes:

1. Data Mining, Education, and Social Sciences
2. Software Quality, Testing, Technical Debt, and Standards
3. Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering
4. AI, Technology, and Societal Impact
5. Tools, Evaluation, and Artificial Intelligence
6. Information Systems and Agile Practices
These themes are intended to guide submissions; however, papers are not limited to these themes. We also welcome contributions from broader areas of computer science, information technology, software-intensive systems, digital transformation, and related disciplines.

Poster or presentation abstracts
All submissions should clearly state their contribution, relevance, and originality. Submitted work must not be under review elsewhere at the time of submission.

Review Process

All submissions will undergo a peer review process conducted by members of the program committee and external reviewers. Depending on the final conference policy, submissions are expected to be reviewed under a double-blind review model to ensure fairness and academic quality.

Review criteria will include originality, technical soundness, relevance, clarity, and contribution to the field.

Publication

Accepted contributions will be included in the conference program and presented during the event. Selected papers may be considered for publication in conference proceedings and/or invited for extended post-conference publication, depending on the final publication model adopted by the organizers.

Current planning discussions consider options such as proceedings, a special issue route, or presentation-based participation.
